How are you all? I hope you are enjoying the winters to the fullest. I have been planning to write this blog post for so long because weather calls you know :D. Winter is a season of dry fruits so I thought I should do a post on Health Benefits of Almonds.

Almonds, being a rich source of Vitamin E, minerals, antioxidants and other essential nutrients, are very beneficial for our health. We must include them daily in our diet. An ounce of almonds, which is approximately a handful, fulfills 1/8th of our daily protein needs. You can consume them in any form; raw, powdered, flakes, or shakes, etc.

Yes, you heard it right! Including almonds in your daily diet plan helps to lower the chances of many fatal diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, high cholesterol and diabetes. The high amount of fibers and healthy fats present in nuts make them most suitable for patients with diabetes. Presence of high levels of magnesium in almonds also aid in lowering the blood pressure.

Almonds and weight management

Several studies have shown the effectiveness of almonds in managing your weight and obesity. These are low in carbohydrates and rich in fiber and proteins. Thus, giving a feeling of being full and reducing the hunger. So, they are helpful in reducing the overall calorie intake.

Almonds because of their high levels of Vitamin E, protect us from cognitive decline and reduce the risk of many mental disorders.

Most of us love munching raw almonds but do you know there is another great way to enhance their nutritious value? Another useful approach of consuming almonds is to soak them overnight in water and eat the next morning.

The hard and tough texture of almonds make them difficult to digest for some people. Also, the brown peel of almonds contain tannin which restricts the nutrient absorption. Soaked or powdered almonds are a good alternate of expensive face scrubs. You can mix almonds paste with honey or milk and gently massage it as an exfoliator to scrub off the dead skin.

Similarly, to add shine and luster to your dull damaged hair use almonds paste in any hair mask. This natural conditioner will not only give you shiny hair but also help to reduce hair fall.
