The chilly and crispy winter is here and I can relate to the effort you must be going through when it comes to your hair care, in this weather. Our hair need some extra care in winter. Many girls are usually concerned about maintaining a perfect hair care regimen but they do not have any idea, from where and how to start. In this post, I’ll be sharing my personal routine which I follow to maintain the health of my hair. Hope it helps 😊!
Brush your hair in the morning and before going to bed. Remember to brush your hair very lightly because vigorous brushing may lead to breaking of hair. Thus, be gentle and moderate while brushing your hair. Before bed, brush your hair and tie it in a loose ponytail or braid to avoid tangles. Always use hair brush with soft bristles.
Wash you hair WHEN required
It is not necessary to wash your hair daily. know your hair type and treat your hair accordingly. for instance, if you have oily hair you may wash after 1 or 2 days. However, for dry hair washing twice a week would be enough. Try to use mild and sulphate-free shampoos. Also, do not wash your hair with hot water , it may result in lose of natural oils that protect your hair.
Oiling is the key to have healthy hair, no matter what hair type you have. Oiling should be done at least 2 hours before shower. You can use any hair oil that suits you. The one that I use, is a mixture of different oils and trust me it’s great. For that oil mixture, you will need roughly equal quantities of Mustard Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil and Coconut Oil. mix everything thoroughly and store it in an air tight bottle. Start applying oil in the roots, using your finger tips with light hands. Than apply it lengthwise on all hair. Wash it out after two hours. It’s continuous use will result in SUPER Soft and silky hair. Castor oil helps to regrow new hair, thus this oil is very effective to overcome hair fall. Do oiling twice a week for better results.
Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
For this mask, you will need :
Yogurt : 5 tablespoons
Mayonnaise : 2 tablespoons
Any hair oil : 1 tablespoon
Honey : 1 tablespoon
Egg : 1
Mix everything together to form a thick mask, Apply using an applicator/brush, from roots to tips. Wash after 1-2 hours. This will leave your hair well conditioned and tangle-free. Use this mask once a week or after every 15 days.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Diluted apple cider vinegar acts as a conditioner and helps to get rid of dandruff. After shampoo, take one part ACV and three parts water. Rinse your hair with this mixture and leave it for 5 minutes. Then wash your hair with plain water. This will give instant shine to your hair.
Trim your hair regularly
Apart from all these tips, trim your hair after every month or two. regular Trimming does not allow split ends and gives a healthy look to your hair.
Avoid Chemicals and HEAT
Do not use alot of chemicals especially hair dyes on your hair. The damage caused by chemicals can not be repaired easily. Go for ammonia-free dyes, if you must want to have your hair dyed. Likewise, avoid frequent exposure to heat. Limit your use of hair straightners and curlers, and go for heat-free straightening and curling or use heat serums for protection from heat. Try to air-dry your hair, instead of using blow dryers.
Also, take healthy diet consisting of proteins and iron. Consume green leafy vegetables. Stay happy and try to lead a stress-free life.
