I hope you all are doing well. As we know skin is the reflector of our overall health so it is necessary that we take some extra care of this wealth. The most important thing in this regard is to keep your skin chemical¬-free to a maximum extent. If you’re in your teens or even in early 20s, it is advisable that you try to follow a skin care routine which involves natural products. There are a plenty of natural ingredients in your home which if used consistently can do wonders to your skin.
I have been planning since long to share some of my skin care tips which really worked well for me. As I’ve told you guys in one of my previous blogposts that I have combination skin, so keep in mind that these skin care tips are perfect for a combination skin (having an oily T-zone). However, you can do a little adjustments in the ingredients according to your skin. So here you go :
1. Aloe vera – the wonder gel
Aloe vera gel a natural moisturizer and anti – irritant. It soothes Sun burnt skin and also helps to overcome pimples. It is a very important ingredient in most of the face and hair masks. This gel acts as a sunscreen and can also be used as a night cream.
It is advisable to use fresh aloe Vera gel. However, if it is not available ,you can go for the store brought.
How to use aloe Vera gel
All you have to do is slice the stem into two. Now gently rub all over your face. Leave it overnight and wash in the morning.
Also, apply this gel before going out and say good bye to Sun blocks.
2. An easy DIY mud mask

Fuller’s Earth or Multani mitti works great for acne prone oily skin. Its face pack helps to reduce pores and controls oil.
For home made mud mask , you will require following ingredients :
• Powdered multani mitti : 1 tablespoon
• Rose water : as required ( if you have dry skin you can use milk instead of rose water)
• Lemon juice : few drops
Mix everything together to form a thick paste. Apply all over your face and neck , avoiding eye areas. Let it dry and wash gently with Luke warm water. You will notice an instant glow and smooth skin even after first application. This homemade mud mask, if used regularly, not only revitalize your skin but also makes it blemish – free.
3. Apple cider vinegar – as a toner

• Rose water
• Apple cider vinegar
• An empty spray bottle
Fill one third of the spray bottle with rose water and add ACV . Shake well and keep it refrigerated in summers. Use it twice a day especially before going to bed. This toner is great to control oil and keeps your skin hydrated.
4. DIY Scrub
This is the best face and body scrub / urban or whatever you call it, so far. To make this DIY Scrub, you need :
- Gram flour : 1 tablespoon
- Dried and powdered orange peels : half teaspoon
- Powdered almonds : half teaspoon
- Turmeric powder : a pinch
- Honey : 1 teaspoon
- Almond oil : few drops
- Lemon juice : few drops
- Rose water : as required
Mix everything together and add rose water to form a thick paste. Apply on your face or body. Leave it to dry than wet your hands with water and gently start scrubbing. Scrub, scrub and scrub !!! Then wash it with luke warm water. Use a good moisturizer later on.
5. DIY Lip Scrub
Here comes a very easy yet an effective lip scrub. All you need :
• Olive oil : 1 teaspoon
• Lip balm (any of your choice) : 1 teaspoon
• Sugar : 1 teaspoon
• Salt : ¼ teaspoon
Mix all ingredients and store in an empty jar. Use it daily and see the magic.
6. How to get rid of dry hands and feet
Winter has almost arrived and many people complain about dry and rough hands and feet in this weather. Here is the solution for them. Make this lotion at home and use it daily to have silky smooth skin. This mixture also helps to overcome sun tan.
• Rose water : half cup
• Glycerine : ¼ cup
• Lemon juice : ¼ cup
• An empty bottle
Mix all and store in an air tight bottle in refrigerator. Massage your hands and feet with this solution before bed. Wash in the morning. This also works well for dark knuckles and elbows.
Apart from all these tips, here are some more suggestions which will surely benefit your skin:
• Drink a lot of water, like A LOT.
• Eat healthy. Whatever you eat, it shows its effect on your skin, directly or indirectly. Fresh juices are really good for skin, especially ABC (Apple, Beetroot, and Carrot) juice.
• Have proper sleep and adopt healthy habits.
• Patience and consistency is the key to a skin care regimen.
• Always do a patch test before applying anything on your face. You can possibly be allergic to even natural products.
